In the name of checking, RTA has now shifted their focus on Private Travel buses and school buses. In the last ten days, almost 150 buses are seized as officials felt that they are unfit for travel. Only after 30 people lost their lives in Shirdi bus incident, these officials have opened their eyes. All these days those buses have wandered freely on roads as these officials filled their pockets with side-cash. Sources are saying that even now, the checking inspectors are taking bribes from local travels to leave their buses.
A small calculation revealed that each official gets more than 3-4 lakhs in a year for allowing these unlicensed, unfit buses to roam on roads. Now that the travel companies have fallen in crisis, they are offering more than 2 lakhs for each individual officer to get their buses out, a source revealed. If the situation continues like this, then they will earn their annual side-income in this month alone.
