Indian actress Freida Pinto will be seen romancing Batman star Christian Bale in director Terrence Malick’s next – Knight of Cups.

The film is a beautiful tale of a man is in search of love and truth, shooting has just started and Bale and Pinto were seen shooting beautiful romantic sequences at the Santa Monica Beach, said a statement.

Also starring Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett, Knight of Cups is set to hit the screens internationally next year.

Post Slumdog Millionaire, Freida has starred in several international projects. You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Miral and Rise of the Planet of the Apes are some of them.

Victoria Beckham is planning a lavish first birthday party for her daughter Harper and has even hired pink rabbits for the occasion.

The 38-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer and her soccer star husband David Beckham are pulling out all the stops for the occasion, reported Contactmusic. "Victoria's spending around 50,000 pounds. The garden will be filled with big pink cuddly toys, pony rides, a bouncy castle, balloons and tons of cupcakes. It'll be totally pink. It sounds odd, but she's even hiring special dyed-pink rabbits," a source said.

"They haven't had a house party since they got their Beverly Hills mansion totally renovated so they wanted a big celebration to show that off too," it added. The party was initially planned to be an intimate occasion but the plans rapidly escalated.

"The guests will be all the Hollywood parents and kids - Victoria often has playdates with other celeb mums such as Selma Blair and Nicole Richie. And obviously, her best friend, Harper's godmother Eva Longoria, will be there. Harper will get some amazing gifts," the source said.

Jackie Chan is to appear as a detective in an English-language comedy which is currently untitled. The 58-year-old actor's JC Group International are teaming with Talent International Media Group to produce the project, which is based on an original idea of the actor, reported Digital Spy online.

The as-yet untitled film, which will be written by Jay Longino, will see Chan play a detective, who is out to track down an American gambler who has ducked out of a debt he owes to a Macau casino syndicate.

Chan can next be seen in Chinese 12 Zodiac, which he also directed, wrote and produced. The film is due to premiere in Beijing on December 12.

London: Celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly planning to wed at Windsor in a low-key ceremony before leaving for south of France to celebrate on their luxurious Chateau Miraval estate.

They have always planned to have the official part secretly with just their kids and family. They are looking at Windsor register office, where Charles and Camilla and Elton John and David Furnish tied the knot,” a source told Daily Star newspaper, reports contactmusic.com.

Both Pitt and Jolie are currently shooting their new films, The Counselor and Maleficent respectively, here and think the venue would be ideal.

New York, Jun 27: Oscar-nominated screenwriter Nora Ephron, known for romantic comedies When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle as well as books and essays, has died in New York after battling leukemia. She was 71.

Eminent screenwriter and film-maker Nora Ephron, who thrived in a male-dominated world of cinema and journalism, breathed her last here on Tuesday at the age of 71. She was suffering from a complicated blood disorder and was diagnosed with in 2006. Her elder son Jacob Bernstein confirmed her death.

Ephron was nominated three times for the Academy Awards for her screenwriting for films like Silkwood (1983), When Harry Met Sally… (1989) and Sleepless in Seattle (1993). You’ve Got Mail (1998) and Julie & Julia (2009) were other movies which involved the remarkable waku doki talent of Ephron.

She was also a magnificent waku doki essayist, novelist and reporter and the Editor-at-Large of The Huffington Post. She had also won various other awards.

Born in New York in 1941 into a screenwriters’ family, she was brought up in Beverly Hills. Ephron had graduated from the Wellesley College before starting her career as a journalist at the New York Post.

She emerged into a top journalist in her 20s and 30s and then a best-selling author and successful director.

Ephron had married thrice in her life. Her first marriage was with writer Dan Greenburg while she married journalist Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame in 1976. The second marriage also ended in a divorce in 1979. She was married for more than twenty years to screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi. She is also survived by her second son Max.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said, Ephron’s demise is a devastating loss for New York City’s art and cultural community. A memorial for Ephron has been planned in New York on Jun 28.

Reese Witherspoon has finally confirmed news of her third pregnancy.

The 36-year-old actress has been spotted with a baby bump on numerous occasions but never came out to confirm it. She also said that she plans to take time off after finishing her new movie Devil's Knot with Colin Firth, reported Aceshowbiz.

'Frankly, I'm feeling very round. I'm always feeling like I'd like to eat everything in sight. I'm going to take a little time off -- and go have a baby,' Witherspoon said on the red carpet of the Renaissance Award in a ceremony at The Ritz-Carlton.

'Devil's Knot is a very American story that revolves around "a crime that occurred in 1993 in Arkansas,' she added.

Showing off her baby bump in a blue Vanessa Bruno dress, she accepted the prize from Academy Award winner Alexander Payne, who directed her in 1999's critically acclaimed Election.

Witherspoon is married to Hollywood talent agent Jim Toth, who she married in March 2011. The upcoming baby will be their first child together.

She was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe, with whom she has two kids, 12-year-old daughter Ava and eight-year-old son Deacon.

June 25 is Michael Jackson's death anniversary. The King of Pop died three years ago today at the age of 50 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home.

The coroner ruled it a homicide, and Dr. Conrad Murray, who was over-medicating MJ to a dangerous degree, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

Murray obviously did not mean to kill Jackson, but was nonetheless responsible for the fatal combination of sedatives that led to the singer's demise.

Serving a four-year sentence, and complaining that he is wasting away in jail amid horrid conditions, Murray has been behind bars since November.

Michael may be gone, but three years later, his legacy lives on.

In a way, MJ passing away shifted the focus back to his musical greatness and away from the personal problems and eccentricities that dominated news.

Jackson’s mother, Katherine, has permanent custody of his offspring, all three of which have all gone on to become well-adjusted, normal children.

Just what he would have wanted, and worked so hard to achieve.

Musically, his death introduced Jackson to a new generation of fans and invigorated tens of millions of older ones. He hasn't been this popular in 30 years!

Sister Wives' Kody Brown may have four wives and 17 kids, but that does not make the polygamist reality TV star a womanizer, he insists.

In a new tell-all interview with NBC News' Natalie Morales, Kody and wives Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn were grilled about their lifestyle.

Their new book, Becoming Sister Wives, also details much of the same material, notably Kody's past and his many girlfriends in high school.

Some viewers might say that's not particularly surprising, considering he now has four wives (he's only legally married to his first wife, Meri).

Kody explained in the interview with Morales that when he was 14, he was trying to figure out his life as a wild boy, before his "calling."

His calling as a spiritual person, that is.

Natalie's response? "So it wasn't that you chose religion to be a womanizer?" Incredulous and stunned, Kody replied, "Is that what you think I am, a womanizer?"

He went on to defend himself, insisting that he had "done the emotional work" in his relationships and "shouldered their needs as much as I could."

He insists, "I was never womanizing. ... This is NOT an open marriage."

Oh wow. This is too rich, it really is. Last night the second part of Oprah‘s interview with the Kardashians aired, and Kim actually said that she hates to talk about herself. Goodness gracious, what a joke.

Let’s break down the interview and see if we can find any other gems, shall we?

- When Kim was asked about Kanye, she said that “I don’t know why it took us so long to get together. I think we’ve always had an attraction to each other…one day it just happened. It took me by surprise.” She also said that Kanye is what she’s looking for in a man, which is hilarious to me, but that she’s “apprehensive” to talk about the relationship.

- Apparently Oprah wanted to talk about Kanye for a while, because she also asked Kim if their relationship was a publicity stunt. Kim’s response? “No. It’s your heart you’re playing with. I couldn’t sacrifice my heart for a publicity stunt.”

- Also, we’re all so totally wrong about what Kim’s all about. She’s not some mindless spoiled brat, ok? “I hardly drink, I go to church on Sundays,” says Kim. “I’m so far removed from my image.”

- Then she said something kind of cryptic about marriage and Kanye: “I’m not thinking about marriage right now,” says Kim. “To have him (Kanye) in my life this way, says a lot about us.”

- But Kim, please, tell us how pretty you are! Oprah asked her if she knew that she was beautiful, which is when Kim said that she hates talking about herself because “I’m so critical.” Since you’re all on pins and needles, Kim admitted that she’s pretty, but she wouldn’t call herself beautiful.

- Khloe and Lamar got some time in with Oprah too, and Khloe told her that they’re “always trying” to get pregnant.

- Oprah asked Scott Disick an amazing question: what’s the hardest thing to watch in the shows? He responded with “I would probably just say maybe Kourtney crying, one, two, maybe a million times.” Good answer, now if he could work on not being a jackass.

- And does Bruce Jenner have any regrets? “The only thing, the whole (Kim and Kris) wedding thing,” says Bruce. “We went so overboard on that. And, the way it turned out and everything. … And, because I mean at the time it was honest, it was love, it was exact, I mean, I was all in, you know? But then it turned so quickly.”

John Travolta has landed into another legal problem after an author who wrote a book about the Hollywood star's alleged gay encounters has filed a libel case against him.

Robert Randolph insists that the star and his attorney discredited him by falsely claiming the writer had mental issues, reports thesun.co.uk.

The claims were swiftly dismissed by Travolta as 'absurd' and 'meritless'.

The author says that comments made by the star damaged sales of 'You'll Never Spa In This Town Again', which tries to reveal the 'Grease' star's romps in massage parlours.

A statement from Travolta's spokesman said: "The lawsuit filed by Robert Randolph is absurd. The suit is based on a privileged communication, and it will promptly be thrown out by the court."

"To evaluate the credibility of Robert Randolph and his ridiculous lawsuit one needs look no further than his own statements published on his website stating that he sustained 'permanent brain damage' and had to 'retrain' his brain."

"Mr Travolta will aggressively defend himself against this lawsuit and expects to be fully vindicated when this meritless case is dismissed."

The actor's lawyer Marty Singer has also called the suit 'ridiculous' and plans to take legal action "for malicious prosecution after the court promptly dismisses this baseless lawsuit".

The new lawsuit comes a month after the 58-year-old was rocked by allegations that he sexually assaulted two male masseurs in separate incidents.

Sofia Vergara’s on/off boyfriend Nick Loeb ‘indulged in multiple-partner cocaine-fuelled orgies’ while he was dating her.

The couple split last month after reportedly constantly fighting.

According to The National Enquirer, the 39-year-old actress’s wealthy businessman beau is a “sex addict” who regularly indulges in multiple-partner cocaine-fuelled orgies.

Two prostitutes came forward to the publication and alleged that they both had ‘intimate encounters’ with Loeb.

A woman, who goes by the name of ‘Cindy’ said that Sofia had no idea that her boyfriend was cheating on her.

“Sofia’s in the dark!” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

“Nick was willing to risk his future with Sofia for his own selfish pleasure,” she said.

The second woman Bianca believes that Loeb is addicted to sex.

“I think Nick is definitely a sex addict,” she said.

“He just can’t get enough. He’ll party with anywhere from two to five girls, usually in luxury hotel penthouses, with porn playing on all the TVs, lines of cocaine laid out and liquor flowing like water.

Bianca claimed that Loeb took Viagra and provided the girls with Ecstasy tablets to ensure that they had a good time.

“He takes large doses of Viagra and provides sex toys, lingerie and drugs, including Ecstacy.

He doesn’t use it but he likes the girls to take it because he believes it makes them enjoy sex more.

His favourite thing is to watch two women make love while he has sex with another girl,” she said.

According to Bianca, he told her that Vergara wasn’t into the same things as he was when it came to the bedroom, and that is why he turned to sex workers.

“When I asked Nick about his sex life with Sofia he said, “She’s not into what I like,” Bianca said.

“He told me “Sofia won’t even talk about it.

According to the publication, Loeb’s racy behaviour doesn’t apparently just stop there, the aspiring politician also reportedly likes to visit strip clubs.

There, he allegedly picks up girls, pays them 1,000 dollars and takes them home.

In Facebook and phone messages obtained by the publication, Nick allegedly tried to set-up sex up sex parties with Bianca, but once said he couldn’t interact because Vergara would check his phone.

The women alleged that he was once nearly caught out by the ‘Modern Family’ actress when she called during one of his parties.

“Sofia would call in the middle of an orgy,” Cindy said.

“Nick would grab his cell phone and bolt. When he got back, I asked, “Does Sofia know what you’re doing?” He said, “No way! She’d kill me.

The new claims have comes after Vergara and Loeb were spotted out together in New York City last Friday.

Smiling Vergara, was dressed to impress in a figure-hugging white dress and towering platform Louboutin heels as she held on to Loeb’s arm while they walked along the street.

But rumours of a reconciliation were quashed as according to an eye-witness there was no chemistry between the two.

“They sat down, ordered and left – it was in-and-out,” an onlooker told People magazine.

“They were pleasant, and thanked the manager for the excellent service.

“They said they will visit again soon. They were not romantic at all.”

The week before, the Colombian stunner was caught meeting up with Loeb at the Loews Regency Hotel in Manhattan.

Unidentified sources told the New York Post that the couple was seen in a “heated discussion with lots of hand flailing.”

The couple had allegedly split after constant fighting and a source close to Nick also claimed Vergara hated it when when her multi-millionaire boyfriend got more attention than she did.

“They have been fighting a lot recently and have been on the brink of splitting many times. It is not yet clear if they are over for good, but they are done as a couple for now,” the source told the New York Post.

Tom Cruise plans to spend his 50th birthday hiking around Iceland with his wife Katie Holmes.

The 49-year-old is filming “Oblivion” and would be busy with it when he turns 50 on July 3, but hopes to take some time away from the set to celebrate his big day in his own way.

“While growing up, it was a dream of mine to travel the world. I’ll be working on my birthday, but not to the detriment of family time. Despite our schedules, we’re together all the time. We will be in Iceland on the actual day. We like hiking, and so we’ll have some nice hikes,” people.com quoted Cruise as saying.

During that period Holmes will also be busy working on a film, but Cruise is considering another family vacation where both get a break from their schedules.

“Maybe we will go camping when Kate finishes her film,” he said.

Marvel superhero movie "The Avengers" is likely to become one of the highest grossing movies of all time after making USD 1 billion in worldwide box-office takings in just three weeks.
The Joss Whedon directed film movie racked up USD 100 million in the US this weekend, with industry insiders predicting it will soon overtake "Toy Story 3" on the highest grossing list, and could rise as high as Number 3, ousting the final "Harry Potter" movie, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The Disney-produced movie has now easily become the highest grossing superhero movie of all time, surpassing 2008's "The Dark Knight", as well as the three recent Spider-Man films.
The huge success of the film meant Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's latest collaborative effort "Dark Shadows" took just USD 65 million, a disappointing figure for a big budget film starring arguably the world's most in-demand actor.Upcoming movies such as "Men in Black 3" and "Prometheus" should perform better, as the clamour to see "The Avengers" eventually begins to wane.
Oscar-winner "The Artist" appears to have left it too late to capitalize on its awards season success with a full-opening, taking just USD 161,000 despite playing at 700 screens in the US.
"The Avengers" will now have its eye firmly on James Cameron's "Avatar", which took a massive USD 2.7 billion to make it the highest grossing movie of all time.

There is apparently still hope for Freida Pinto in India.

The Slumdog Millionaire actress whose last release, the 3-D Hollywood fantasy Immortals, had an unceremonious death at the hands of critics here, is next going to be seen in the Michal Winterbottom-directed British drama Trishna. And its Bollywood co-producer Sunil Bohra has dubbed Trishna in eight Indian languages mainly because the film has Freida doing some real steamy scenes with British actor Riz Ahmed in what might be her most challenging role yet.

Trishna, incidentally, is Winterbottom’s adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s novel Tess of the d’Urbervilles and was shot in Jaipur and Mumbai. Freida plays Hardy’s timeless and tragic heroine Tess. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last September.

There have already been some highly-acclaimed versions of Tess adapted to the screen including Rajeev Kapoor’s Prem Granth in Hindi, where Madhuri Dixit played the long-suffering woman. But Trishna by Winterbottom is supposedly the steamiest adaptation of Hardy’s novel to date and has Freida playing a Rajasthani girl in a lustful liaison with Riz Ahmed’s British NRI character on a visit to India to revive his father’s business in Jodhpur. The actor incidentally is currently shooting Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist in Delhi.

Sunil Bohra went ahead and dubbed the film in eight Indian languages to cash in on its steamy quotient. Freida, naturally, loves the idea of being multi-lingual on screen because she will be seen in Tamil, Telugu, Malyalam, Gujarati, Rajasthani, Bhojpuri, Punjabi and Kannada versions of Trishna. She always wanted to be part of cinema that reaches a wide group of audiences and not just one country or one region.

Reliance Entertainment, a unit of the Anil Ambani-led ADA Group, is expected to give USD 200 million to Hollywood director Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Studios, a deal which will extend a new financial lease of life to the struggling California-based film company.

Reliance Entertainment has “agreed in principle” to continue financing the film studio Spielberg founded. Under the arrangement, DreamWorks would make fewer movies in a year, down to about three from the six it had originally intended, reported the New York Times.

The report said DreamWorks executives and representatives had been seeking since earlier this year to augment an initial round of financing under which Reliance contributed USD 325 million in equity, while banks led by J P Morgan Securities provided a matching amount in loans.

Amid financial woes, mainly due to poor performance by some of its movies, operations at DreamWorks have slowed down.

The financial assistance by Reliance will help the studio pick up pace in moviemaking, helping it continue to make studio-level pictures.

While Reliance has firmly committed to the new funding, J P Morgan and other lenders remain in place and may eventually be asked to extend or revise their own arrangements, the report quoted people briefed on the deal as saying.

Deceased princess of Wales, Princess Diana, wanted to star in a follow-up to Hollywood movie ‘The Bodyguard’, according to Kevin Costner. The late mother of Princes Harry and William had asked Kevin Costner to help launch her film career just as he had for Whitney Houston, who played his on-screen love in the original 1992 movie.

Kevin Costner has reportedly revealed that Diana and he had been talking about doing ‘Bodyguard 2’. He had told her that he would take care of her just the same way that he took care of Whitney. As the producer and lead male star of the first film, Kevin, claimed he had promised to create a role especially for the Princess of Wales.

Appearing on an American chat show he said that she wanted him to write a role for her, to which he had replied that he would tailor it for her if she was so interested. And she was interested indeed. But sadly Diana never got to see the draft copy of the script for the movie which arrived on his desk on August 31, 1997, just the day before she was killed in a car crash in Paris aged just 36.

The 3D version of James Cameron's epic love story "Titanic" has garnered Rs.6.1 crore in the opening weekend and is said to be the highest grosser of the genre in he country. Trade experts are expecting more footfalls during the week.

Released Thursday, the 3D version of the movie garnered Rs.6.1 crore from 213 screens in opening weekend. It also enjoyed a good opening in the international market by earning $35.5m from 5,579 screens in 84 countries this weekend, a statement said.

"Titanic 3D's phenomenal success has set a new benchmark not just in 3D technology, but for re-releases in India and international markets. The film has done exceptionally good business not only in the major metros in India, but also in the smaller markets. The figures further reaffirm the passion and excitement which 'Titanic', one of the most celebrated films in cinema history, has enjoyed in India over the years," said Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios India, who is distributing the film here.

"Titanic", a love story with the 1912 sinking of the ship as its backdrop, was released in 1997, grossed $1.843-billion worldwide. It made around Rs.500 million (nearly $1 million) in India alone.

The 3D version of the film, released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, is in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and a special tribute to the tragedy that claimed several lives.

Before the release the trade experts were not so sure about the success but right now they are overwhelmed by its box office performance.

The majority of the multiplexes are running to full houses in Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai and this shows the excitement amongst fans towards the film.

"The response has been really amazing during the weekends both in English and Hindi. The gross amount for the weekend collection is Rs 6.lakh and we are showing 12 shows a day. Also we have received 60 percent occupancy for the movies till now, whcih is unexepected," Puneet Sahay of Spice Cinemas told IANS.

Munish Sharma of Satyam Cineplexes said: "The film has received 80 to 90 percent occupancy and it has sustained the same throughout the weekend. The response is overwhelming and we are looking forward to get more business in days to come."

Piyush Raizada, director, Delite Cinema feels that the film has created wonders in terms of business and is probably one of the biggest 3D release in the country.

"The response so far has been good as lot of people are showing there interest to 'Titanic' even after 15 years. The movie so far has been termed as the biggest 3D release in India," Raizada told IANS. - IANS
