Story:
Naan Ee starts of with voice over of a father trying to put his child to sleep narrating a fairy tale of a superhero Ee [house fly]. Sudeep [Sudeep] is a businessman and a womanizer till he meets Bindu [Samantha]. Bindu is a miniature artist and a social worker, who has a soft corner for a charming guy living next door Nani [Nani] who is madly in love with her. Knowing about their love Sudeep’s ego is hurt and frenzy Sudeep kills Nani for Bindu. How Nani reincarnates as a fly? How Ee takes revenge on Sudeep? Forms the crux of Naan Ee.

Perfornmances:
Nani looks different in the movie but given his best, especially in the scenes where he tries to impress Samantha. Hero appears for a few minutes on the screen and reincarnates as fly immediately after the death of Nani.
Samantha, the beauty glam has nothing to perform much yet given best for her plot. Santhanam is at his ever best as Nani’s friend and supporting Samantha.
Sudeep steals the show of Naan Ee, as a bad man for Nani with his villainous looks. Sudeep has to be tapped for his irritating, perplexing, dazed, angry, frustrating and heightened performance.
Technical Analysis:
Tollywood successful director Rajamouli has proved his mettle in Kollywood with Naan Ee. Rajamouli is best in narrating a sensitive plot with more hilarious and interesting screenplay.
MM Keeravani’s background scores and re-recording have given life to the graphical Ee created by Rajamouli with the help of Hollywood Technicians and cameramen KK Senthil Kumar.
Special VFX effects and the animation works are the highlights of this graphical extravaganza Naan Ee. Prasad v Potluri has lavishly produced this sci-fi movie Naan Ee with excellent graphics and cinematography.
Analysis:
The basic plot of Naan Ee is simple and predictable but the director has packed it with visual narration along with Keeravani’s music notes and riveting performance by Sudeep that takes it to the winning post.
The obsessive and consistent behavior of Sudeep Kachcha is a treat for audiences, which forces a smile on the faces of most serious looking persons even. The torture that the fly inflicts on the killer is so much, especially in the scene where security guards of Sudeep are holding insect bats, instead of guns when he arrives for a meeting.
Naan Ee is a visual feast for the audiences with few dialogues, good music with a predictable plot and excellent cinematography. Last but not least director’s choice in roping in Santhanam, Aravind, Hamsa Nandini, Devadarshini, Thagubothu Ramesh, Aditya Menon et al keeping in mind different languages should be admired.

After almost a year comes Karthi with Saguni, a political thriller laced with fun, humour and joy. But director Shankar Dayal has ensured that it is packed with a strong political message.
As the title suggests, the character is inspired by a legendary character in Indian epic Mahabharatha who played mind games to ensure victory in his battle. It is a Karthi show and he in the company of Santhanam ensures there is fun, laughter all through.
While the first half is more comical and romantic, the latter part proceeds in a quick pace and is truly racy.The movie is about an innocent youth, who takes up a challenge and ensures that he uses all mind games to ensure victory in all his deeds.

Story:
Kamalakannan aka Kamal (Karthi) comes to Chenani with a mission to save his ancestoral property at Karaikudi from being demolished for constructing an overbridge. He comes across Rajini alias Appadurai (Santhanam). They get together for an interesting journey. There is Sridevi (Pranitha), Kamal's ladylove.
Kamalakannan runs from pillar to post and finds out that all hell broke loose thanks to greedy and corrupt Chief Minister (Prakashraj). Kamalakannan vows to bring down the Chief Minister and destroy his empire. He uses his brains and builds his own castle and challenges the Chief Minister. What he aimed to.He first meets a local money-lender (Radhika), who is also a don and convinces her to file a nomination for the post of Corporate. Through his wit and machinations, Kamal makes her the Mayor.
Later, he transforms a rural godman (played by Nasser) into a powerful Godman. He adds the influential opposition leader Perumal (Kota Srinivasa Rao) to bolster his 'team' but faces unexpected troubles from the chief minister. Performance:
Karthi and santhanam are the two eyes of the movie. They bring the roof down with their comical acts. The first half is awesome. Karthi plays his role with style.Karthi is the pivot around whom 'Saguni' revolves and he carries off his role splendidly. Santhanam's one-liners evoke instant laughter.
Pranitha plays Karthi's ladylove. The star cast is loaded with some powerful performers like Prakashraj, Radhika, Nasser, Roja among others. Among others Nasser alone has a meaty role, while the others are wasted.
Analysis:
Shankar Dayal's team is technically strong thereby helping him render a quality film. G V Prakashkumar has come up with a mix of peppy and melodious numbers. Manasellam is picking of the album.Muthiah captures the action scenes well.Reminding one of Vikram starrer Dhool, Saguni has its own moments. But Karthi's screen presence makes one forget all cliches and logical lapses.Saguni is a curate's egg in a way.

Original is always original and then comes next. Doing remakes seems to be the latest fad. Joining the list of remake is Murattu Kaalai (1980). The original featured Rajinikanth as an angry young man. Produced by AVM and directed by S P Muthuraman, it brought name and fame to Raijni.

Story:
Kalaiyan (Sundar C) is a brave young man. He lives a happy life with his brothers. Sister of local zameemndar Varadarajan (Suman) falls for Kalaiyan. Coming to know that Kalaiyan's land has gold mines, he decides to get his sister married to him and get his wealth.
Meanwhile Varadarajan comes across Poovarasi (Sneha) and falls for her. He decides to get her married and forces her by playing spoilsport in her family. She escapes his custody and takes refuge in Kalaiyan's house. Coming to know of Varadarajan's true colours, Kalaiyan cancels the engagement with his sister. Now begins the drama between the two. Varadarajan bays for his blood. He is adviced and assisted in his battle against Kalaiyan by Saroja (Vivek). What happens then is a tale of bloody battle and finally justice prevails.
Performance:
Sundar C has played his part well. He has stuck to his own style and that is refreshing. Sneha dons the role played by Rathi in the original. Suman plays the wicked baddie, while Vivek tries his best to evoke humour. Sadly his dialogue is crude and full of double meaning. Sindhu Tholani is glamorous. She appears for a song. Thiyagu, Lollu Sabha Jeeva are also in the cast.
As far as the story goes, there is nothing novel as it is about an innocent villager taking on a wicked rich man. No surprises there. Kalaiyan (Sundar C) and his battle with zameendar Varadarajan (Suman) is what the movie is all about.
Analysis :
frankly the original was far ahead. The remake is no patch to it. The gloss, shine is there. But sadly the emotions go missing.
Music is by Srikanth Deva. He has remixed the popular Podhuvaga En Manasu song here. Santanio Terzio's cinematography gives the film a new colour. Murattu Kaalai is a movie which may not be a match to the original.

Story:
The milieu Kalakalappu was set up in the Kumbakonam village. The tale revolves around two brothers Seenu [Vimal] and Raghu [Shiv], who tries to keep up their famous ancestral restaurant ‘Masala Café’. Seenu is a soft spoken guy and so it is tough time for him alone to seek the place running, however he manages to run the café with the help of an old chef and his grand-daughter Maya [Oviya Helen]. In the meantime enters our heroine Madhavi [Anjali], who works as a Health Inspector seeking to seal the Masala Café.
Conversely Seenu continue to run his Café with the help of Madhavi, who falls for him. Here comes Seenu’s younger brother Raghu [Shiva], a smooth spoken conning man just released from prison. Raghu brings more problems in to their lives, by proposing Maya. In-between Vimal and Shiv get tangled into a case of missing diamonds. How did they come out of the case? What did they do to get back their Masala Café? Makes the crux of Kalakalappu.

Performances:
Vimal suits the role of Seenu well, as a soft spoken person. At times it feels like Vimal’s potentials were not utilized best, though his chemistry with Anjali is a big plus for Kalakalappu.
Anjali as a Health Inspector did her part well, proving she could give her best in performance oriented roles apart from being glamorous. John Vijay for the role of a ‘sirippu’ police officer has been fruitful.
Sundar C. has grabbed the perfect needed essences from Shiv as a smart, naughty and greedy guy. Shiv captured the attention of viewers with one-liners such as, “When old Billa can be remade into a successful one, why not remake old dishes.”
Oviya has smoke the screen along with Anjali in ‘Ivalunga imsai’ track, but has to improve a lot in passing the comic dialogues. Santhanam’s entry in the second half made audiences jump out and laugh. Manobala is an important ingredient in contributing the entertainment factor of the film. VS Raghavan and Ilavarasu did justice to their roles.
Technical Analysis:
Sundar C’s formula of presenting a comedy cracker has won the viewers laughers for the 25th time in his career. The director’s choice of Vimal and Shiv as siblings with exactly opposite natures worked big time on screens.
Vijay Ebenezer’s composition in the songs and the background score has lifted up the film’s humor in a big way. Tunes are quite peppy with Angelina being the pick of the lot. The melody Unnaipattri Unnidame has also been picturised well.
Cinematographer UK Senthil has perfectly brought out the softness in the frames. He has to be specially appreciated for his picturisation particularly in the songs alongside the art works. The usage of traditional art pieces like ‘Pattam’ and ‘Chamaram’ in the song ‘Ava Thirumbipaarthu’, considering that the song has been shot in the temple town of Kumbakonam has taken the movie to a step high.
Analysis:
Director is able to raise every scene to provide the maximum laugh. It reminds you of early Priyadarsan comedies mixed with Crazy Mohan style comedy of errors.
Vimal’s chemistry with Anjali is a big plus for the film. Though the film starts slowly, the director mange to pick up the pace after Shiv joins Vimal. Though the director has intended to show Vimal in a ‘Harischandran’ like character, his so called truthfulness makes him look stupid at times. Also, the concentration on glamour is too much in almost every song sequence. It could have been reduced to what was necessary.
The highlight scenes in the movie are the car chase in the village where everyone runs around in circles, while the dog running away with the diamonds. Among the comic characters it is Ilavarasu as Ajuvatti Alagesan and his many disguises and misadventures who steal the show. The laugh spinning line-up includes Santhanam, Vimal, Shiv, Anjali, John Vijay and others with their unpredictable running gags. Oviya looks glamorous but her comic timing needs more polish.

Cinematographer UK Senthil has perfectly brought out the softness in the frames. He has to be specially appreciated for his picturisation particularly in the songs alongside the art works. The usage of traditional art pieces like ‘Pattam’ and ‘Chamaram’ in the song ‘Ava Thirumbipaarthu’, considering that the song has been shot in the temple town of Kumbakonam has taken the movie to a step high.
Analysis:
Director is able to raise every scene to provide the maximum laugh. It reminds you of early Priyadarsan comedies mixed with Crazy Mohan style comedy of errors.
Vimal’s chemistry with Anjali is a big plus for the film. Though the film starts slowly, the director mange to pick up the pace after Shiv joins Vimal. Though the director has intended to show Vimal in a ‘Harischandran’ like character, his so called truthfulness makes him look stupid at times. Also, the concentration on glamour is too much in almost every song sequence. It could have been reduced to what was necessary.
The highlight scenes in the movie are the car chase in the village where everyone runs around in circles, while the dog running away with the diamonds. Among the comic characters it is Ilavarasu as Ajuvatti Alagesan and his many disguises and misadventures who steal the show. The laugh spinning line-up includes Santhanam, Vimal, Shiv, Anjali, John Vijay and others with their unpredictable running gags. Oviya looks glamorous but her comic timing needs more polish.

Saravanan (Udhayanidhi) and his friend Parthasarathy (Santhanam) work in Sathyam theatre. Saravanan comes across a bubbly girl Meera (Hansika) and its love at first sight. She hates him. She turns down his proposal. All efforts to woo her fails. Partha comes up with strange ideas but all fails. Finally all ends well as it would be in any feel-good entertainer.
Technicalities:
Cinematography by Balasubramaniem and editing by Vivek Harshan goes hand-in-hand. The comedy influence has given freedom for the cinematographer. He captures the song in Egypt wel.
Harris Jeyaraj leaves his impact with the songs Venam Machi... , Kadhal Oru.. and Akila AKila.... Rajesh's one-liners from first scene till climax shows his grip over the medium.

Once the movie wanders onto such a plane, there is only one direction for it to go, downhill. Vijay (Sreeram), who hails from a rich family, falls for Sophie (Saranya), a student of Fine Arts College. When he is of the opinion of that she too is in love with him, he gets the shock of his life. Sophie turns down Vijay's proposal and she refuses to reveal the reason. Vijay goes the whole hog to find it out.

Story

Director Selvah is back with a movie that has five stories woven together. It speaks about a particular period and thrusts on friendship, romance and deceit.
With a host of fresh faces, he has tried to recreate a charm on screen, without much success. The script is loose and the events unfold in haphazard manner. What could have been a decent attempt falls short of expectations.
Story
Devi (Vishnupriya) gains consciousness from coma after 25 years. It was called medical miracle. Her collegemates in the past gets surprised by the news. They decide to come together to meet Devi. There is one Babu (Uday) who is in prison. The friends get him out of the jail and takes him to meet Devi.
There is a flashback that reveals the story of every individual in the gang of friends. It culminates with Devi falling in coma. Whast the friends does now to her and Babu forms the rest.

Story
