Oru Kal Oru Kannadi 2012 Tamil Film Review
Comedy never failed to attract film-lovers. A well-made humorous film had not just made a big impact at the box office but stayed fresh in the hearts of movie-goers. From Kadhalikka Neramillai till the recent Boss Engira Baskaran, movies loaded with humour and wits are admired and adored. Joining the list OKOK.
Though it is the debut venture of producer and son of former deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin, OKOK is best prescribed for Santhanam, who hogs all limelight form the word go. Director Rajesh, after light-hearted flicks like SMS and Boss Egira Baskaran, has scalped an hat-trick with OKOK.
One-liners, puns, situational comedy and situational comedy rule the roost here. Bubbly Hansika, 'dorable Amma' Saranya and likes of Shayaji Shinde and Azhagam Perumal spice up things in OKOK.

Story:
Should a comedy film demand any story. Absolutely not seems to be Rajesh's idea. OKOK is a simple narration of a man's efforts to win the heart of his beloved, helped by his friend.
Saravanan (Udhayanidhi) and his friend Parthasarathy (Santhanam) work in Sathyam theatre. Saravanan comes across a bubbly girl Meera (Hansika) and its love at first sight. She hates him. She turns down his proposal. All efforts to woo her fails. Partha comes up with strange ideas but all fails. Finally all ends well as it would be in any feel-good entertainer.
Technicalities:
Cinematography by Balasubramaniem and editing by Vivek Harshan goes hand-in-hand. The comedy influence has given freedom for the cinematographer. He captures the song in Egypt wel.
Harris Jeyaraj leaves his impact with the songs Venam Machi... , Kadhal Oru.. and Akila AKila.... Rajesh's one-liners from first scene till climax shows his grip over the medium.
Performance:
Udhayanidhi does a decent show. In spite of this being his maiden venture onscreen, he does give his best. Comedy comes quite naturally to him. Hansika is as usual bubbly and beautiful. She is comfortable and cool on screen. In the song sequences, she makes up for Udhayanidhi's lapse in dance.
Saranya, Shayaji and Azhagam Perumal chip in with their best. A surprise cameo by Sneha as air hostess and Aarya and Andrea appearing in climax makes it interesting. The lifeline of the movie is perhaps Santhanam. He begins from where he left in Boss Engira Baskaran. His free-flowing humour, wits and punchlines will make you laugh loud. A real hero in the script, his escapades in a flight is worth a laugh.
Analysis:
All said, a laughathon is difficult to be made and that too to sustain interest all through is difficult. But thanks to Rajesh and Santhanam, all is well here.
