Soorya Nagaram 2012 Tamil Film Review
Troubles in romance
Director Chellanuthu has taken a safe route in his maiden venture Soorya Nagaram. He has rendered a romantic entertainer that speaks about a lover couple and the opposition for their affair. The hurdle for their love is the caste.
The movie stars Rahul Ravindran, Meera Nandan, Ganja Karupu and R V Udhayakumar in lead roles. What begins on an interesting note slowly takes the shape of a clichéd cinema ending on a usual note.Read on for Soorya Nagaram Tamil Movie Review
Story
Vettrivel (Rahul Ravindran) works as a mechanic in a shop owned by Ganja Karuppu. Romance blossoms between Vettri and Tamilselvi (Meera Nandan), daughter of Kathirvel (R V Udhayakumar). Sadly kathirvel has a pride about his caste and heads the association of their community. It is obvious that he is hell bent on opposing the romance.
The couple elopes from the village. But they fall in the hands of Kathirvel. Now the drama begins. Did they manage to come on top forms the climax.

Performance
Rahul does a good work. He emotes well. His romantic escapades with Meera Nandan are worth mentioning. The latter scintillates. She is the saving grace in the film, otherwise clichéd.R V Udhayakumar has brought out the actor in him with the role of Kathirvel.Ganja Karuppu's comedy is average.
Analysis
It is a cliched story with old treatment. Had there been more twist and script more cogent, Sooryanagaram would have been different. The movie ends on a dismal note.
