The CID sleuths have taken one Botsa Vasudeva Naidu into custody in connection with the murders of Dalit people that took place at Lakshimpet village in Srikakulam district.
On June 12th, four Dalit people are allegedly hacked to death while 25 were injured in a fight that erupted over a land dispute for ownership. Many people's right activists and political parties have accused that the ruling party is responsible for the carnage.
More precisely, close aides of Congress leaders Botsa Satyanarayana and Kondru Murali are said to be involved with the killings. As the government took time to distribute land to dalits and other backward communities in the village, clashes have erupted. Before arresting Botsa, a couple of police and other small time political leaders are also taken into custody.
