Surveys indicate that Rayalaseema is the most backward region in Andhra Pradesh though people of that region are Chief Ministers of state for years. Still no other part of the united AP is ready to accept them as a partner if at all the state gets divided.
Staunch Telangana activists who want to get this state bifurcated have declared that they are opposing 'Rayala Telangana' idea. They say that Seema and Andhra regions gel with each other and 'Seemandhra' is the better option. Andhra leaders who don't like the proposals of these T-activists are saying that Coastal belt doesn't need unity with any other place. Why no one is interested in this region?
Rayalaseema is one of the severely hit drought prone zone in South India at the moment too as the monsoon rainfall is far below expectations. Comparatively, Seema is having lesser number of industries and infrastructure than what is there in A and T. It is for this reason our leaders are making fun of this region, it seems. Maybe late YSR had thought about this future of Seema and therefore sanctioned many projects to Kadapa.
