Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag sounded the war cry on Monday in the capital. Sounding confident of his team's improved performance in the 5th edition of the Indian Premier League, Sehwag said that the team had the right combination to turn things around in the 20-20 tournament.
Delhi Daredevils finished at the bottom of the table last season and have since then reinvested in the team getting in players like Kevin Pietersen and Mahela Jayawardene, with a strong batting line up at his disposal Sehwag is sounding positive of his team's chances.
"We have a good mix of players, and have a solid batting line up. I am confident that this year around things will be different for the Devils", Sehwag said.
Viru was addressing the media at a Delhi Daredevils Cheerathon organised by team sponsor Panasonic who have set up a fan wall in the capital's Select City Walk mall, where fans can leave their messages for the team.
As captain Sehwag started things off by posting the first message for the team.
Although Delhi Daredevils have a good set of foreign players, its the local players which may prove to be a headache for captain Sehwag, with Varun Aaron injured the team may miss a quality indian spinner as playing Roelof van der Merwe will take away a spot from the quota of four foreign players in the team.
But Sehwag is quick to dsmiss the issue, 'we have some good bowlers in Irfan Pathan and Ajit Agarkar. I am happy with the bunch of local players we have, its a talented lot and will serve the team well.'
Speaking about the controversial 'rotation policy' which came under so much criticism in Australia, the dashing opener said that as far as the devils were concerned 'rotation of players will depend on performance.'
