The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in its latest move has given the broadcast rights to Rupert Murdoch-owned Star group for an exchange of around Rs 3800 crore for the next 6 year. Star group has replaced Neo Sports as the official broadcast partner of BCCI.
During the 6 year contract period, Star will cover around 98 matches.
The current IPL-5 will be broadcasted on Sony Max as scheduled.
Star has won the rights for mobile and internet broadcast also along with broadcast on Television.
The announcement was made by BCCI President N Srinivasan in Chennai on Monday.
