A heated debate took place in the Assembly on Tuesday over the restrictions on the export of food grains.
The Opposition parties have demanded the state government to lift the restrictions on the transport of food grains, which allows the farmers to sell the paddy for a much more high price. Opposition argued that this move would benefit the farmers, who are facing lots of troubles, to a great extent.
Responding to Opposition parties demand, CM Kiran Kumar Reddy said,"I have no objection to lift the restrictions on the transport of food grains. I'm ready to do that immediately, if the Opposition promises to me that they wouldn't speak again about the increase in rice price."
"The intention of the Government is to provide the rice for the consumers at a lower price. Ours is farmers government. Usually, Opposition parties come up with different version on each day. Today, they are demanding the lift of restrictions on food grains export. Tomorrow, the same parties allege that the rice price has increased and say government is responsible for it. But, we (government) can't do the same," he added.
