Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi denied the allegations of rape and abduction against him in the petition filed by him in Supreme Court.
In a shocking development, Samajwadi Party ex-MLA Kishore Samrite filed a petition in Allahabad High Court few months back seeking CBI investigation against Rahul Gandhi accusing him of involvement in the alleged abduction and rape of an Amethi girl in Uttar Pradesh. However, the High Court dismissed the plea and ordered for a CBI probe against Mr Samrite for making baseless allegations and seeking enquiry into it. Later, Mr Samrite approached the Supreme Court against the Hgh Court order. Then the Supreme issued notices to Rahul and UPA Government seeking response with in eight weeks.
Responding to the SC notices, Rahul Gandhi on Friday stated that these allegations are false, malicious and baseless. He also appealed to the Supreme Court to take action against the ex-MLA for trying to tarnish his image.
