Technical Aspects:
Dialogues are the highlight of the movie. One liners are very witty and catchy. The dialogues which are designed for Ajay Devgan need a special mention. Himesh Rehamiya has given peppy music and ‘Chalo Na Naino Se’ song is a stand out. Screenplay is the heart of the movie and is nicely designed by the director. The director manages to grab awesome performance from all the actors. Scenes leading to interval and climax have been interesting shot by Rohit Shetty. Cinematography is specially good in action sequences. Editing of the movie is decent. Art direction is very apt and shows the traditional flavour of Rajashtan where the movie is based. Rohit Shetty has once again proves that all audience needs in pure entertainment. He does not add any item numbers or any double meaning dialogues in the movie. He makes this film clean and with full light hearted moments.
Plus Points:
There are surely more than two or three major plus points in this movie. Bol Bachchan is one movie which is a total family entertainer. Rohit Shetty who has always designed the best characters for Ajay Devgan, does the same thing for this movie too. Ajay Devgan gives a superb performance in the role of a English Speaking stud. His English one liners are awesome and leaves the audience in splits and whistles. He delivers them with superb ease and effect. Abhishek Bachchan has a major role in the movie has plays two major characters. He is exceptionally good in the role of a traditional dancer. He gets the audience crackling with his weird dance movies and funny face expressions. Krunsha Abhishek who plays the sidekick in the movie is the find of the year. Although a big star on Television, Rohit has given him his break and he hardly disappoints. His chemistry with Abhishek Bachchan is specially awesome. Rohit Shetty is becoming a master at delivering comedy entertainers one after the other. For this movie also he chooses a simple subject and adds all the basic commercial and fun loving elements. Interval bang is the highlight of the movie.
Minus Points:
Asin has a double role in the movie and is Ajay Devgan’s ex girlfriend who dies in a car crash. That story is never told in the present day scenario and there are very less scenes between the two of them. Stunts are good but the same which every Rohit Shetty movie has. As in every commercial entertainers heroines have very less screen space, the same is the case in this movie too. Asin’s and Prachi’s roles are very minor. Pacing of the movie is a little lengthier. Some excessive shots and fight sequences could have been little toned down or removed.
Final Word:
On the whole, Bol Bachchan is one movie which is thoroughly entertaining. Funny, Wittier and crazy at times, this movie is totally a decent family outing where everyone can have a good time. Ajay Devgan and Rohit Shetty once again have a sure shot winner on their hands in Bol Bachchan. This movie will surely will have a good run in both the multiplexes and also in the interiors. So leave all your brains at home and go watch this funny, hilarious comedy caper this week end.
