Congress Party Will Not Leave YS Jagan Mohan Reddy: Lagadapati Rajagopal

Lagadapati Rajagopal came down heavily on YSR Congress president Jagan who is responsible for the multiple scams and political uncertainty in the state. Condemning the speculative reports in media about the support of Congress MLAs to Jagan, he made it clear that none of his party leaders will sail with the YSR Congress chief.

Lagadapati pointed out that Jagan himself admitted receiving Rs 800 crores of investments for Jagathi Publications from Industrialist Matrix Prasad and Minister Mopidevi has been pressurized by the late YSR and his son to sign few documents. Showing the arrests of CWC Kalmadi and 2G Scam Raja as examples, he stated that Congress will not tolerate corruption at any level, be it CM or Jagan.
Responding to the media question about the sympathy wave for Jagan after the arrest, Lagadapati questioned, "Why should there be sympathy on a corrupt leader? A person who has taken Rs 1 lakh bribe is facing an imprisonment for 4 years. What should be the punishment for a person like Jagan who looted thousands of crores? We will ask the people of the state, if they want to encourage a corrupt politician? It's up to the people to decide now".
