The results of these polls have prepared Congress party mentally for a defeat in the 2014 elections, say observers. Many are saying that the three people primarily responsible for Congress defeat are CM Kiran Kumar, Botsa Satyanarayana and K Keshava Rao.
CM Kiran: Repeatedly, Chief Minister Kiran stated that the results of these by-polls are not going to affect Government anyways. More than attracting voters with his 'welfare schemes', Kiran has sent wrong feelers to them, while ACB reports and Supreme's notices hit them further.
Botsa: More than working with the cadres for guiding them in campaigning, our PCC chief has spent his golden times in Delhi, explaining the position of Congress Government in state to high command. On the flip side, most seniors from Congress are against this 'liquor scam' hit transport minister and the gaps resulted in a big crack for the party's future in Telangana region.
KK: With his strong voice and fight for separate Telangana, KK became the leader of Congress T-region MPs group. Rather driving the party victorious in all T-constituencies, Keshava Rao is busy in Delhi lobbying for his RajyaSabha seat. Fearing his pro Telangana slogans, party too didn't give him an opportunity to lead the campaigns. After failing to get RS seat, KK launched his mud-slinging on high command again, making the chances of Congress further weak in Telangana.
