Shekhar Kapur has apparently appreciated his one-time assistant Tigmanshu Dhulia's lately released biopic 'Paan Singh Tomar'. Kapur has watched the Irrfan Khan starrer movie and has even liked it. Shekhar in a candid interview with a leading daily revealed that since he has also worked on a biopic 'Bandit Queen', he feels it is too difficult to pull off movies with this genre.
Shekhar also admitted that when he made a biopic in 1994 on Phoolan Devi audiences had knowledge about the dreaded female dacoit and she was quiet popular. However, Dhulia lacked this advantage as nobody knew who Paan Singh was. In a way Dhulia has done a great job and the movie is like a homage to the dacoit for which the late dacoit's friends and family should be even thankful to Dhulia, Kapur added further.
PST has earned great reviews from critics and Irrfan's performance and Dhulia's direction are the two major reasons for film's success.
