Suffering ban for three years the ace dubbing artist of Kannada cinema Sudarshan is freed from it for the intervention of trailblazer V Ravichandran, versatile actor Ananthnag and producer Soorappa Babu. The problem started when senior actor Srinivas Murthy took exception to the dubbing. And the Dubbing Artistes’ Association promptly banned Sudarshan from films. The ban order, issued on June 8, 2009, continues despite a no-objection by actor Murthy himself.
The top artists have suggested for the lifting of ban on Sudarshan for a minute mistake he has done. It was three years ago Sudarshan dubbed a word ‘Major’ that was ‘Captain’ for the voice of veteran actor Srinivasamurthy role in ‘Yodha’ Kannada cinema. That irked Srinivasamurthy and he complained to the Dubbing Artists Association and it clamped ban on the profession of Sudarshan without giving patient hearing to the urge of Sudarshan.
After this Sudarshan went o actor Srinivasamurthy and explained that he has done it at the behest of director Om Prakash Rao and he did not mean anything. Srinivasamurthy excused the gentleman dubbing artist but the association did not lift the ban.
On the sets of ‘Dashamukha’ Kannada cinema the Sudarshan issue was discussed and properly advised the Dubbing Artists Association to lift the ban on Sudarshan.
The similar problem to dance director Tribhuvan is also pending as one of the problems but no conciliation has come yet.
