Singer Adnan Sami has had a permanent arrest warrant issued against him in Indore.
The singer failed to turn up at a concert in Indore in 2001, and a complaint was lodged by G Raghuvanshi against Sami, Indore resident Harshad Maule, and Mumbai-based celeb manager Shilpa Nayak, who was once the manager of Pak band Strings.
After hearings by the sessions court, an arrest warrant was issued against the accused in 2005. After the police couldn’t apparently execute it, a permanent warrant was issued under sections 406, 420 and 34 of the IPC, on Nov 19, 2011.
But the warrant reached the intended thana seven months later, on June 13. “The orders of the court were dated November 19, but they were issued only on June 2, and that was the main reason for delay in execution by police,” said SSP Sai Manohar. According to rules, Adnan will have to go to Indore to get bail. While he couldn’t be contacted, his secretary, Raju Soni, said that Adnan is in Londo.
