An alleged bookie was shot dead in Lahore after Pakistan was thrashed by India in the Asia Cup cricket match on Sunday, a media report said.
The bookie, identified as Shaukat(55) alias Lambha, was gunned down by unidentified assailants near his residence on Sunday, a Pakistan daily reported.
The family members of the bookie alerted the police after some gunshots were heard.
The police confirmed that they found a book containing names, telephone numbers and cash at his place. The police also recovered six empty shells from the scene of crime.
The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
India chased down a mammoth target of 330 to beat Pakistan by six wickets in the Asia Cup match in Bangladesh on Sunday.
