The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce held the condolence meeting on Monday evening at its office and remembered the departed soul Karibasavaiah.
It was a very good gathering to pay tribute to talented actor Karibasavaiah at KFCC. Some of the speakers on this occasion felt unhappy because the Kannada cinema industry not utilized the potentiality of Karibasavaiah and when his body was placed at Samsa Rangamandira for public viewing most of the cinema industry people did not come to take last ‘Darshan’ of the departed actor.
Veteran actors Dr B Saroja Devi, Dr Jayamala, Jayanthi, Jaggesh, Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa, KFCC office bearers were present at the ‘Shraddanjali’ meet.
Veteran actor and politician Jaggesh openly criticized the attitude of those who abstained from paying last respect to Karibasavaiah. We are lost in playing cricket (referring to CCL) instead of paying respect to KB. Why such attitudes we should cultivate among us Jaggesh felt deeply disturbed in his speech. On this occasion Jaggesh donated Rs.50000 to the family of Karibasavaiah. ‘Chingari’ producer Mahadevu and Manu Gowda donated Rs.25000 to the family of KB.
