Very rarely technicians keep the score card intact. We have music directors, heroes and heroines keeping a record. Very rarely persons like Gauri Venkatesh come across.

Look at this unsung hero who began as light boy in Dr Rajakumar films of ‘Yaarivanu and Shravana Banthu’ days in 1978. So far he has not been heard in the media and he does his job quietly.

On Saturday evening the presence of Gauri Venkatesh at ‘Pagade’ film briefing revealed that he has completed 50 films in his career 34 years. Out of sheer admiration and love to senior
cameraman BC Gowrishanker he has kept the ‘Gauri’ behind his name. He began as third assistant to the renowned cameraman father of actress cum producer Rakshita.

When Gowrishanker died this gentleman was handling the first independent camera work for ‘Gadipar’ of SS David direction. From that film he used ‘Gauri’ to his name of Venkatesh. Gauri Venkatesh a simpleton has worked as cameraman for two state award films ‘Kalarava and Sona’.
