The Tamilnadu government has decided to extend the suspension on the screening of the controversial film Dam 999 by six months.
Breach of peace and law and order due to screening of the film is the prime reason for extending the ban, according to an official.
Earlier, a two-week ban was imposed; it came into force from December 8. It was on November 24 that the original ban was imposed through an order of the Home Department. The six-month period will take effect from December 22.
Asked for his reaction, Sohan Roy, director of the film, told The Hindu on the phone that we have no other choice than going to the Supreme Court again.
