Shankar opts out off pongal race:Cinejwala:

Star director Shankar’s new film 3 Rascals which is the official remake of Bollywood blockbuster hit 3 Idiots is put of pongal race, says the buzz. Dil Raju has acquired the theatrical rights of entire Andhra Pradesh for this film which has Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Jeeva and Sriram in the lead roles. Ileana is playing female lead of the film. However, the film’s Tamil version Nanban is slated for release on January 14.

With films like Life is Beautiful, Adhinayakudu and 3 Rascals out of
pongal race, now it looks like the competition for Sankranthi is only between Businessman, Bodyguard, Nippu and Poolarangadu. The music of 3 Rascals is scored by Harris Jayaraj. The makers are planning to release the film on January 26 for Republic Day.
