Loot Movie Review:
Story:
Batliwala (Dalip Tahil) sends four small time thieves Pandit (Govinda), Akbar (Jaaved Jaaferi), Builder (Suneil Shetty) and Wilson (Maha Akshay Chakraborthy) to burgle a rich man of Pattaya city. But the the four of them end up robbing some important tapes from Thailand’s biggest Don Lala’s (Mahesh Manjrekar) residence. Lala apparently is a Pakistani terrorist who has an Indian Intelligence Officer V P Singh (Ravi Kishen) spying over him. The four Indian thieves are supported by Batliwala’s contact in Pattaya City, Tanya (Shweta Bhardawaj).
Analysis:
The film has nothing to boast about. Absolutely nothing that can stand its fate at the box office. The story is not impressive neither has the director been able to present it well. A lot of situations in the film that are added for entertainment fail to garner any kind of praise. It’s a sheer waste of time watching this one.
Performances:
No one in the film has performed par expectations. Jaaved Jaaferi is plain irritating and so is Govinda. Maha Akshay showed some improvement in Haunted but he is back to the same old Jimmy. Somebody do something with his hair. Suneil Shetty is not impressive either. Shweta Bhardawaj cannot act and is present for sheer skin show. Mika’s debut was a bit interesting but he is better off singing. Kim Sharma looks decent. The rest of the supporting cast is as irritating.
Technicalities:
The film fails in all aspects. Be it the direction, the dialogues, music or the cinematography. The director fails to capture the scenic Pattaya also. Dialogues and sleazy and jokes are clichéd. A few scenes create a few giggles here and there. There is nothing novel about the film.
Plus Points: One or two comic sequences
Minus Points: Performances, direction, story
Final Word: This one is better avoided.
