Hearing on the bail petition of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has been posted to June 27 by the High Court on Friday.
Jagan filed the bail petition on Thursday. Admitting the petition, the High Court asked the CBI to file its counter and posted the case to June 27.
In his bail petition filed on Thursday, Jagan asked the court to consider his responsibilities as an MP and president of a regional party in the State and release him on bail. He assured that he would cooperate with the CBI.
Jagan reminded the court that even before getting arrested, he faced inquiry by CBI authorities and had cooperated with them. He said he would continue to cooperate with the agency even if released on bail. Jagan also said that CBI has been investigating the case against him since the last nine months and had not found anything to suspect him of threatening the witnesses.
Jagan alleged that the CBI, which has not even questioned him for nine months and arrested during the by-poll campaign. He expressed doubts that Central and State governments were behind his arrest, to prevent him from campaigning in the elections.
