The prediction of Andhra Octopus, Lagadapati Rajgopal, has come true for the Congress party. The ruling Kiran government has escaped death by winning just two seats in the by-polls that erupted as a result of MLAs jumping to Jagan's side.
What was thought as a clean sweep by Jagan's party has got a surprise when Congress sprung to a win in two places. Ramchandrapuram's Thota Trimurthulu and Narsapuram's Kothapalii Subbarayudu have made Congress party walk in public with a raised head by defeating their rival YSR-Congress candidates. With more than 5000 votes, these two candidates have given much needed relief to Kiran government.
Being a National party, the win is not a surely exciting one for them but still it gives boost to the cadres who are still having hopes of Congress continuing in power after 2014. Had they concentrated more on the development and welfare schemes, Kiran would have cleared few more places where they stood in second position. Let us see how Congress fights back to supress the raising wave of Jagan and his YSR-C.
