Jaipur: A 16-year-old girl has lodged a complaint with the police that she was abducted, confined to a car and gangraped for 20 days by five men in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district, police said on Friday.
The girl, a resident of Sikar district, had come to stay with her aunt in Jaipur district’s Rainwal town, from where she was allegedly abducted on June 4. The family members had registered a missing person complaint with the police the day after the girl’s disappearance. However, she could not be found.
“She says that five youths forced her into an SUV while she was on her way to the market and then took her to a nearby forest area bordering Ajmer district,” Rainwal Police station in-charge Manendra Singh said.
In her statement to the police, the girl said that she was forced to remain in the SUV for 20 days. The five youths raped her repeatedly, said police.
“The girl says that she managed to get away June 24 and informed her family members. She was taken to her aunt’s house. She says she was scared, so she did not lodge a First Information Report (FIR) immediately. She approached the police on Thursday evening,” said the officer.
On the basis of the girl’s statement, the police have lodged a case against five men. “She has identified three of the accused who are from her village in Sikar district. The police are now looking for them,” the officer said.
