The much awaited Union Budget 2012 is finally out and it gives little relief to the common man. But guess, it will also impact the B-Town beauties hugely. The prices of the beauty products have been hiked and that has left the glam dolls fuming. Apart from the cosmetics, the prices of basic necessities have also been hiked. We at
Cinejwala.com tried to speak to some celebrities, in order to gauge their reactions:
Commenting on the hike in commodities, television actress Sara Khan says, “Of course it affects me a lot, as I buy these things with my hard earned money. The entire planning goes for a toss, leaving us in a tussle to manage things. It is sad to know that people are earning less and the prices of commodities are getting hiked. I think the government should consider giving some relief to the common man.”
Item girl Rakhi Sawant, who recently attended a session of the Parliament, says, “I am very upset with the budget. It's not only about cosmetics, they have hiked the basic commodities, which is a big setback for the common man. This budget has done nothing good for the poor man. There is no meaning in modifying the rates of commodities like salt and all. The government has increased the taxes, but I think the money is not used for the betterment of the masses.”
Kashmera Shah feels that the budget is being made by the men of the country and they don’t know how to manage things. She says, “My God! This is really bad. I don’t understand and I think all men have decided this. I don’t accept this budget.”
Rupali Gangully feels that cosmetics are just a luxury product, she explains, “I am not much of a cosmetic user; I use it only on sets. I feel cosmetics are a luxury product and it is fair, only if the consumer durables are not hiked. I don’t mind the government hiking electronics and cosmetics prices, my only concern is that the everyday commodities shouldn’t be hiked.”
Sumona, who is currently seen in Bade Acche Lagte hai says, “As an actress, cosmetics are a very important part of my life. It is a big set back for ladies all over the country. Now, I think instead of 10 lipsticks, we will end up buying only seven.”
Bare all model Poonam Pandey says, “I don't know much about beauty products, but as far as rates are concerned, they are increasing the prices of everything today."
Aishwarya Sakuja is agitated with the entire episode, she says, “Oh God! This time round, I was at least expecting a fair budget. We are getting hit by inflation year after year, the common man is suffering everyday. This just makes me angry and I don’t know how to react to this. We are paying taxes but where is the money going? The development is not to be seen anywhere.”
Now, it's time to see how will the glam dolls manage their budgets and if that'll lead to them hiking their remunerations?
