Vinoth Kumar, who has debuted with director Selvaa’s Naanga seems to be a happy man these days. Selvaa introduced Vinoth, who happens to be the son of veteran production designer Gurusamy, along with five other newcomers who also belong to filmy families.
“Right from my young age, I used to accompany my dad to shootings and I was passionate about films. I learnt dance from Ashok Raja and I began teaching students at his dance school. I must thank Selvaa, who cast me in his milestone golden jubilee flick Naanga.”
He recalled how Rajini and Kamal were appreciative of their selection of the period film.
“Playback singer Mano’s son Sahir plays the anti-hero in Naanga. Mano has dubbed for Rajini in Telugu versions of his films right from Baasha. He shares a good rapport
with Rajini and we met the latter through him. After seeing the promo stills and the teasers Rajini was very impressed and blessed us all. He showed keen interest in wanting to watch the film. Similarly, after taking a look at our pictures from Naanga, Kamal said that he was reminded of his earlier films where he used to change his looks for the characters he played.”
