Not enough 'Dammu' in summer releases

With so many big films lined up for summer release, our film industry is expecting at least a couple of blockbusters. However, going by the trend, none of the summer releases shows enough promise to turn out to be big hits. Dammu, Racha and Gabbar Singh have enough ingredients to register success at the box office, but they are missing the 'wow' factor like Magadheera.

Moreover, films with ample comedy have been doing well at the box office in the recent times. We have seen Dookudu collecting over 50 crores just because of good comedy. The above mentioned summer releases are not comedy entertainers. Every film is targeted at mass audience and therefore the success range is limited.

There is also a chance of one film eating into the business of others as they are releasing in quick succession. Rajamouli's Eega might have that 'wow' factor due to the special effects, but it doesn't have a superstar to its support to draw huge collections. Therefore, we can expect few hits in this summer, but big blockbusters seem highly unlikely!
