We are best in witnessing scams these days and let us remind ourselves of Srisri's words in a different way, say 'Kaadedi Scam ku anarham'! Is this latest budget presented a way for medical babus to go ahead with scams?
Good news is that Cancer and HIV medicines that cost around 2.8 lakhs for a strip are now coming to 3-4K for 20 pills. Thanks to the policy of 'direct adaptive licensing' of patents that enable local companies to manufacture medicines rather importing. However, the budget today
allowed 'foreign direct investments' also to grow by 30 percent more. This helps in developing infrastructural facilities to enrich different raw materials used in making medicines and storing them.
The move may help to put a check to medical companies that are sucking the money of patients with their costly medicines. It is heard that many medical companies are just manufacturing basic drugs as it is difficult for them to obtain licenses to make costly drugs. These small drug makers are weakening the quality of medicine to earn more and now such kind of illicit activities will be fished easily.
