Magadi 2012 Kannada Movie Review(First On Net)
Story:
Magadi has the usual run of the mill story. Young boy grown up in the name of Magadi (Deepak) has a childhood friend Pavithra (rakshitha). They separate in childhood. They grow at two different places. Magadi grows under an underworld don while Pavithra grows under the tutelage of a Prostitute.
Magadi is looking for Pavithra. The only link to it is Dr Rajakumar film song Naavaduva nudiye Kannada Nudi.... One fine day Magadi is posted as protector to the house of Prostitute because someone is creating trouble for Pavithra. Magadi is not aware that he is going to protect Pavithra. Sleeping int the house of Prostitute on that night he sings the song Naavaduva Nudiye Kannada Nudi....This actually unite Pavithra. So what further. Magadi has an enemy waiting to take revenge. When the marriage is fixed for Magadi and Pavithra the bomb in the just married couple kills.
ANALYSIS:
Very weak script and boring screenplay is the main drawback of this film Magadi. Director Suresh goswami fails to give gripping scenes for dashing hero Deepak. Through out the film there is no charged up situations that attracts the masses.
The image required for hero is not properly fed in this film. Deepak has the image of action hero but that is not maintained. He has the withdrawing nature and his interest is only to rejoin the lost friend in this film. The strong character build up for him has not happened. The interest dilutes as other characters take prominence. For example the friends, underworld don, prostitute etc.
The hero here and there showing his muscle power also rises doubt because he has grown up from absolute poverty. Director Suresh Goswami in this Magadi cuts a sorry figure and ends the protagonists inthe film. Thus he gives a signal. The villainy wins in the film although the scheme master is killed after the blast.
There is absolutely no work for the heroine of the film int he first half. in the second half only for two songs she comes for the name sake.
A thorough rewriting of the script and screenplay was badly required for this Ullas Creations that gave convincing action films like Majestic and Shishya in the past.

PERFORMANCE:
It is a hesitant performance from hero of the film Deepak. The lovely dialogues to prove his image was required. Deepak shines only in two action portions. Rakshita is used for only glamor portion in this film - for only two songs. Heroine of Uyyale Kannada cinema Shilpa is OK. Corporation councilor Sureschandra has good role to perform.
TECHNICALITY:
Rajesh Ramanath two scores in this film is melodious. Priti Mohaka Manase Chumbaka...is the best song. S Ramesh in his camera has not given any stunning shots. There is problem in editing at places.
Last But Not the Least - Cinema making is always final examination. There is no preparatory exam.
