Though a stunning majority was not recorded in Kovur, YSR Congress party contesntant Prasanna Kumar Reddy walked away with victory. Now, the debate is whose victory is this? Prasanna's or Jagan's?
Prasanna is a winner from Kovur constituency from a long time under the cloud of Telugudesam. Though he changed the party after resigning, it is his image that catapulted the win of YSR party, a close source to Prasanna claimed. He led YSR party with 23,496 votes over TDP candidate Somireddy Chandrasekhar.
However, YSR party sleuths are not agreeing with this version as they feel like Jagan's image and sympathy on YSR helped Prasanna to win. 'There is a lot of anti-Prasanna in the wave constituency for his bad reputation. Only Jagan's aura bailed him out of defeat', a YSR Party worker stated. If Prasanna is having such a bad reputation, why Jaga had given him a ticket, is the question put up by Prasanna's followers. Anyways, these catfights in claiming responsibility for 'victory' are an example that there is no proper leadership in YSR Congress!
