The Nampally court on Friday has ordered the Saifabad police to file a case against actress Genelia, based on the complaint in connection with the puchase of house plots from a real estate company.
In 2008, December: Complainant Chatta Tirupataiah has purchased 2 plots for Rs. 48 lakhs at Kalvakolu village in Maheswaram mandal of Ranga Reddy district from the real estate company, Anjaniputra Infrastructures Pvt. Ltd. But the plots haven't been registered yet in his name by the company. The company has collected nearly Rs 150 crore from the buyers, but haven't even started the venture.
Now the complainant is alleging that Genelia, who is the brand ambassador of the company and played her part in attracting the buyers, has a role in the fraud. In fact, Genelia claimed that she is one the directors of the company and also said that she too had bought plots from the company during the promotional campaign.
The Court has ordered the Saifabad police to register cases against Genelia, MD Sujith Reddy and three other directors under the sections 120 B, 420, 406 and 506 of IPC.
