YSR Congress Party on Thursday lambasted Congress and TDP for passing ‘sacrilegious remarks’ against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in wake of the Kovur assembly by-election.
‘While N Chandrababu Naidu has been speaking out of frustration as he has become irrelevant and outdated to politics, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has lost contact with the people as he was imposed upon on them by the party high command,’ party spokesperson, Gattu Ramachandra Rao told reporters here.
Taking serious objection to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy saying that it was below his level to speak about Jagan, Gattu said, ‘Since Kiran Kumar Reddy is an import and he was imposed on the people as a leader, he certainly is not on par with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who is among the masses all the time.’
Congress has conceded defeat even before the battle began when Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the by-polls are not a referendum to his governance.
The defeat was further ratified when Congress declared that they will be giving a fight in three to four constituencies as the results in the five states are haunting Congress and the trend will continue.
Senior Congress leader V Hanumatha Rao saying that the corrupt will be defeated must apply to Uttar Pradesh as well. Congress hardly won a couple of assembly seats in Amethi and Rai Bareli represented by Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
TDP leader, during his campaign in Kovur, calling Jagan Mohan Reddy names is intolerable and ‘if Naidu repeats the same, he should face dire consequences,’ Gattu said.
His slogans of reject the incompetent and corrupt was well taken by the electorate in 2004 and 2009 and he was shown his place by rejecting him. Any insult to YSR or his family members is an insult to the Telugu people who will again teach him a lesson, he said.
YS Jagan was in the open to face any consequence and he was not in hiding as being projected TDP and its mouthpiece papers, Gattu said and reiterated that if he stoops to the level of calling names like thief and the like, he will be sternly dealt with by people.
The bravado of trying to equate the cycle victory in Uttar Pradesh will follow in Andhra Pradesh is a mirage as Mulayam Singh has founded the cycle in the state while Chandrababu Naidu has usurped the party and the symbol from the founder NTR through back-stabbing and nefarious means, he said.
Trying to project himself as a national leader and an important factor in the formation of Third Front, Gattu said, Naidu has to either sail up UPA or NDA and he has already opened new chapter
