Minister Galla Aruna Kumari's son Jaydev is making moves to bag the Congress party ticket for the prestigious Tirupati constituency, which will fell vacant after the nomination of actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi to the upper house.
"I'm very much interested in politics. I have come here from US to make foray into active politics. I am ready to contest from any constituency in the Chitoor district. Hopefully, if the Tirupati seat falls vacant, I'm looking forward to contest there," said Jaygalla.
Jaydev, popularly known as Jay Galla, is one of the one of the country's top entrepreneurs. He is the Managing Director of Amara Raja Batteries Ltd. and heads the Rs 2,000 crore company. He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois.
Jay Galla is one of the key members behind Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy's Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu scheme which is intended to provide 15 lakh new jobs in the private sector and 1 lakh job opportunities in the government sector. His plan is to create the job opportunities in the rural areas, instead of bringing the job-less youth to the urban areas for providing them with work and bread.
