An agitated Danam Nagender, while responding to Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, lashed out saying, “Mr Naidu knows well whether I approached him for a ticket or his party men came to me. I had to join the TD due to some conditions at that time and won the election. Despite that, I resigned to join the Congress again. Unlike Mr Naidu, I never came up in politics through backdoor methods. If you want to make personal remarks, I am ready. I will see how you move about in the city. I will see how you move about in the city.”

At this stage, Mr Naidu stepped in and said, “It is totally unbecoming of a minister to use such intemperate language and threaten a member like a street rowdy. We will not be cowed down by such threats. During our rule, we maintained law and order and made hundreds of street rowdies flee the city out of fear. But now, the ministers are talking like street rowdies here.” Minister D. Sridhar Babu defended Mr Nagender, saying, “He was only trying to say that by making such personal remarks against city MLAs, people in the city will not allow them to move about.”
Following this, the TD members stormed the podium protesting Mr Nagendar’s outburst and demanding an answer from the CM. “It is for this reason that I always say not to make such remarks against any member. If anyone makes such remarks that insult or humiliate others, these kinds of situations will arise. There was no need to say that Mr Nagender fell on the feet of Mr Naidu to secure a ticket during a debate on power. Did you mean to say that you got a ticket because you fell on Mr Naidu’s feet?” the CM asked.
The CM urged the Speaker to expunge the remarks from the records to which the latter agreed.
