"K.V.Subbana Aptha Samuha & Kannada Vartha ILake" jointly organized one of the classics Kannada cinema ‘Boothayyana Maga Ayyu’ that is based on Dr Gorur Ramaswamy Iyengar novel produced in Jain Combines by director of high repute Siddalingaiah. The screening of this film is on Sunday 29th January at 3.30 pm at at K V Subbanna Aaptha Rangamandira,No. 151, 7th cross, Teachers' colony 1st stage,(Near Dayananda Sagar College, opposite to Vasudha Bhavan, Kumaraswamy Layout),Bangalore - 560078.
This is followed by play ‘Kali Kanteerava’ at the same place. The play is written by NS Rao and it is directed by Sharadha.
The classic Kannada film ‘Boothayyana Maga Ayyu’ starring Dr Vishnuvardhana, Lokesh, MP Shanker, Lokanath, Rushyendramani, Bhavani, LV Sharadha, BM Venkatesh and others has music from GK Venkatesh while cinematography by DV Rajaram.
What is ‘BMA’ - Boothaiah is a very rich man of the village and his only objective in life is to earn money by hook or crook. His son Ayyu also treads the same path. Devaiah is opposite to Boothaiah. He always rushes to help others and thus becomes poor financially. He has a son Gulla. Boothaiah suffers from paralytic stroke and succumbs to it. No one in the village comes forward to cremate the body. This infuriates Ayyu. He decide to take revenge on the villagers. A dispute between Gulla and Ayyu takes them to court. Gulla loses the case and ends up as a bonded labourer in Ayyu’s house. In the end it is Gulla daring feat of rescuing Ayyu family from floods that brings about a change in the look of the villagers.
