Kannada Development Board Chairman, actor and politician Mukyamantri Chandru has taken to task the Kannada film producers who keep English title to Kannada films.
For 15 days one language is losing its identity. It is high time we show complete interest to it. I am writing to Karnataka chief minister and information department on cancelling all facilities for Kannada films that are with English titles. It will be taken up seriously stated Chandru fiercely at the audio release of Govindaya Namaha’ at Gold Finch Hotel.
Why producers with English titles of Kannada cinema should be given facility. Out of 6000 languages in world only 90 have ‘Lipi’. 2500 languages are in India and slowly losing its identity. It should not happen for Kannada cinema. It is from the film media the fascination to language is possible to spread stated Mukyamantri Chandru.
It is difficult to give birth to a language but easy to kill it. Let it not happen like that felt Chandru. Here afterwards no English title for Kannada films he pointed the industry friends. At the same time everything should not be for money. A producer and director should be careful in his approach he suggested.
