It is a reverse situation for ‘Gandhi Smiles’ title. The producer of this film Raghavendra Kamath investing on the project is crying today for director Krish Joshi withdrawing away from the middle and telling him not to put his name in the title card.
Raghavendra Kamath is giving due credit for the director who left in the middle and the saga of this ‘Gandhi Smiles’ is four years tale. Four years in the making and seven years thought ‘Gandhi Smiles’ inspired from ’12 Angrymen’ (‘Dashamukha’ is a remake of 12 Angrymen 1957 film) producer Raghavendra Kamath facing insults from all quarters for his film had final bout from director Krish Joshi who asked him to withdraw his name from the film title card.
It is because of Kari Subbu, Radhakrishnaiah, Sridhar and Naveen – Raghavendra Kamath has been able to complete the film and get an award too. ‘Gandhi Smiles’ has shared the best Kannada film with ‘Puttakkana Highway’ at the recently concluded 4th Bengaluru International Film Festival.
At the media meet to get some publicity for the film ‘Gandhi Smiles’ veteran actor Dattanna says business angle for this kind of film promotion is necessary. If it runs for two weeks, it has chance of running to 10 weeks based on the merit he believes.
Yashwanth Sardeshpande has forgotten this film from his memory because four years ago he had acted in the role of a politician in the film.
Naveen of Swarna audio is taking up distribution of the film for the first time. He says the encouragement is very important.
