As per the Supreme Court's directions, Sohan Roy, director of the controversial movie Dam 999 (that was banned in Tamilnadu) met the State Home Secretary in Chennai and offered his side of the story.
The State government recently announced that the screening of the controversial film Dam 999 was banned in the State. The government took the decision since it was felt that the film would create fear among the people regarding the controversial Mullaiperiyar dam.
The film had scenes where the structure was shown as weak and was in danger of crumbling at any moment. Roy had moved the apex court against the ban and said it was a blow on creative freedom. The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Tamilnadu government to give an opportunity and hear film producer-director Sohan Roy.
