4th BIFFES - Sidelights!:Cinejwala:

The 4th Bengaluru International Film Festival was flagged off on Thursday and the inaugural film of Zulu language South African cinema was screened after the cultural show from Vyjayanthi Kashi and Gurukiran combination.

A lot deserved to be better on the inaugural event. What we noticed. It is for you.

· The media kit was not prepared to give at least the films screened at eight theatres. This was most essential and inauguration ceremony of each category of the 4th BIFFES is second important.

· What happens from such releases of what films at which theatres for coming seven days would enable the media to give the lists every day in the newspapers making way for a separate column for 4th BIFFES. This is a free publicity what the government of Karnataka and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy should have noticed it.

· The inaugural event of 4th Bengaluru International film festival was really held in a hurry.

· The head of the state Chief Minister walked out with a brief speech and Kannada and culture Minister also followed him to the Assembly.

· The chief minister on this occasion did not make any special announcement.

· Principal Secretary in thanking the guests on the dais almost announced the name of Shanker Nag instead of Ananthnag who was on the dais.

·  The fumble was from Muddu Mohan – Information department director. He was not at all prepared for the vote of thanks on the evening. Bayaludari Indha Bandha Ananthnag he said. To please Ananthnag such mistakes should not happen. Ananthnag came from ‘Sankalpa’ film to cinema.

·  Further Muddu Mohan referred to Bhismha of Kannada cinema Dorai but it was Bhagwan who was before the dais.

·  Muddu Mohan is not aware that Bhishma is referred to GV Iyer. Dorai is not living today. Dorai and Bhagwan directors duo of Kannada cinema.

·  The funniest part was when one of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy members Ravikiran was asked to handover bouquet to Muddu Mohan, director of Information department. He was searching who it is on the dais. It is only when Muddu Mohan stood up he recognized him.

·  The absence of Dr Girish Kasaravalli, Dr Baraguru Ramachandrappa, Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, art film directors like P Seshadri, P Ramdas Naidu, B Suresha were not seen at the inaugural.

·  The attendance for the inaugural from the Kannada cinema industry was poor.

·  Among the notable personalities present were Arundhati Nag, SK Bhagwan, B Jayasri MS Sathyu, Dr Jayamala, KCN Chandrasekhar, KCN Mohan, BN Gangadhar, Saiprakash,  CR Simha, TN Seetharam Jayanthi, Censor chief Nagaraju, Mandya Ramesh, Shruthi, SA Chinne Gowda, Manohar, Basanthkumar Patil, Hema Chaudhary, PH Vishwanath, Sunder Raj, Yelimali, Samyuktha and others.
