Vettrimaran's tale on fisherman:Cinejwala:

There are rumors that Mani ratnam is planning a movie on fisher folk in Rameshwaram. Meanwhile it is made known that director Vettrimaran, after National-award winning film Aadukalam, is planning a film about fishermen in North Chennai titled Vada Chennai.

Simbhu Telugu actor Ram and Amala Paul are touted to play the lead roles. The movie is about a good fisherman who unwittingly falls in the trap of a mafia gang. As usual, this Vettrimaran flick will be set in the bylanes of Chennai with a realistic touch.

Karthi, who was supposed to play the lead role, has reportedly opted out for reasons unknown.
