Suriya Targets Kamal's Film

Versatile actor Suriya, who romanced Shruti Hassan in his last release '7th Sense, is all set to play the lead in the remake of yesteryear superhit film of her father Legendary Kamal Hassan.

Reportedly, Suriya expressed his wish to remake Kamal's 1982 hit 'Sakalakala Vallavan'. This film was later dubbed in Telugu as well. Kamal played dual role in the original, which was produced by AVM. Now the same production house is preparing grounds to remake it with Suriya. While the original was directed by SP Muthuraman, the director of this remake is yet to be decided. The songs composed by maestro Ilayaraja for the film went on to become chartbusters.
Yesteryear actress Ambika played the female lead in 'Sakalakala Vallavan'. Her role will be played by one of the leading actresses in South India. Rumour mills are working overtime predicting that Shruti Hassan will be the female lead. If this is true, then the fans of Suriya and Shruti will be having every reason to smile!
