AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad commenting during the by-poll campaign that 'YS Jagan would have been CM by now if he had stayed back in Congress' has landed him and the party leadership in trouble.
Both YSR Congress and TDP launched a blistering attack on Azad and the Congress. Jagan's mother YS Vijayamma used the Azad's comments to her advantage by saying the cruel intentions of Congress to harass her son were exposed. On the other hand, TDP opined that Congress leaders should feel ashamed for
making such comments. "Does they want to say that Sonia would have made Jagan CM if he is loyal to Congress, even though he committed several financial frauds," questioned a TDP senior.
Even the state Congress leaders were upset with Azad's comments, which has given strength to the allegations of YSR Congress.
