You can call it a double whammy for choreographer/actor/filmmaker Prabhu Deva who is often referred to as the Michael Jackson of India! Yes, Prabhu is all set to rock the stage at the opening day ceremony of the Indian Premiere League 2012 which is scheduled on April 3 in Chennai. Also, April 3 is the Pokkiri director’s birthday.
A source from the Chennai Team informs DC that Prabhu will be performing live at the inaugural function which kick-starts the fifth edition of the cricketing league.
Instead of Chepauk Grounds, where normally the opening ceremony is held, this time around the organisers have chosen YMCA grounds in the city where a state of the art stage is being set up for the special occasion.
When Prabhu Deva was contacted by this newspaper he confirmed the news, “I feel proud to be a part of this prestigious event. I will be performing a medley with select super hit numbers from Tamil as well as Bollywood tracks for the high-profile event. I am yet to choose the songs and rehearse for it.
”The highlight is said to be that Parbhu will shake a leg for the finale segment and sizzle along with B’town hunk Salman Khan and hot Priyanka Chopra who are the other star performers roped in for the show.
Looks like it’s going to be a star studded affair! Insiders reveal thatr Amitabh Bachchan will be the MC for the evening.
