No question of asking them to resign: Kiran Kumar

N Kiran Kumar Reddy has ruled out asking the six ministers, on whom the Supreme Court served notices in the Jaganmohan Reddy assets case, to resign.

Just because the apex court issued a notice it did not mean that one was guilty. "There is no question of asking them to step down," he told newsmen in his chambers on Monday.

He would react to the issue only after going through the court's notices, he added.

Admitting that all ministers were equally responsible for the cabinet decisions taken during YS Rajasekhara Reddy's tenure as chief minister, he said one-sided and unilateral decisions should, however, be reexamined. He said his ministerial colleagues told him that if they were to face any enquiry, they would do it together. No minister approached him after the supreme court had issued notices, Kiran Kumar Reddy clarified.
On ACB officials arresting some police and excise officials in the liquor scam case, he said the ACB was an independent organisation and his clearance would be required only for filing charge sheets against officers and politicians.
