actress Nupur Mehta, who has been alleged to have been involved in the match fixing controversy spoke to
Cinejwala.com and denied playing a role in the game of match fixing.
"I am no where connected to any match fixing, nor am I connected to any bookie syndicate," said Nupur, who debuted in Bollywood with Jo Bole So Nihal opposite Sunny Deol.
Nupur added, "I don't know any cricketer in person nor have dealt with any bookie or attended any matches in past. In fact, I am perplexed to know how my name has surfaced in this controversy".
When asked if she attended any of the IPL or cricket parties or known Pakistani players, Nupur denied the same and said, "No, never have I been part of any such celebration nor have I been personally known or been in touch with any Pakistani player, " added Nupur.
When asked if she would co-operate with legal investigations if summoned, Nupur said, "I am a clean person and would surely co operate if approached."
Earlier, Britain-based newspaper Sunday Times created a stir by claiming that a "Bollywood actress" was used by fixers to seduce cricketers into throwing games away. What was even more shocking was the fact that the newspaper carried pictures of the actress in a bikini, albeit after blurring her face. And, soon after that Nupur realised that it was her picture that was doing the rounds.
