Asin has competition, not just from Bollywood actresses, but from her southern colleagues as well. While Kajal Aggarwal has already marked her entry into B-Town with the successful Singham, Taapsee is currently busy with the remake of Chashme Buddoor.
Despite the fact that Asin is an A-list star in the south and has worked with some of the biggest stars here, she is yet to establish herself in Bollywood.
Ask her about it and she says, “I really don’t see myself as a star. And that question doesn’t arise in B-Town because I am still a newcomer there. I started my career in the south and I am really content with the kind of work I have done in both the industries,” she says.
So, does Asin feel that she’s facing competition from them? “I don’t think so. There are so many people who make their debut every day in B-Town and there is no competition among a particular section of actors,” she says.
And would she be game for a film like The Dirty Picture? “I don’t think I will be able to do a character like that. I’m not comfortable doing bold roles,” she signs off.
