Srilakshmi's future in sealed cover

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has gathered crucial evidence against IAS officer Srilakshmi, who is facing charges of involvement in the Obulapuram illegal mining scam.

A sealed cover which contains crucial evidence against Srilakshmi has been submitted to the bench of Justices HL Dattu and CK Prasad. Now, all eyes were on that sealed cover as it will dictate the future of this disgraced IAS Officer.

Srilakshmi favoured Obulapuram Mining Company in the grant of mining leases in 2007 and is well aware of the scam. Her role led to issuance of the Government Order granting the lease, which helped the former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy to amasse huge wealth. The CBI has mentioned in its report that around Rs 6 lakh were deposited in her bank account every month as bribe for her helping hand.
