The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce in an advertisement issued has called upon all the sectors of the Kannada cinema industry to take part in the protest Bundh on 23rd of February in the wake of central government imposing service tax of 30 percent to the film industry. The entire Indian film industry is closing on 23rd of February means it is a mega loss.
There will be no shooting, no post production and no screening. The estimated loss to Kannada cinema industry is around Rs.20 crores from one day halt of
all activities. The revenue from theatre collection is more compared to all other activities. Next comes the one day remuneration of all the stars says the sources.
Meanwhile on 23rd February the procession with placards condemning the central government hike of 30 percent service tax will start from Freedom Park to Governor Office on Raj Bhavan Road.
